Biography

Ethan Zohn is the former professional soccer player who won Survivor: Africa (Season 3), charming the jury with an honest, low-key social game to become the third Sole Survivor. His warmth and integrity made him one of the best-liked early winners.

Zohn's story took on far greater weight off the island. He used part of his winnings to co-found the charity Grassroot Soccer and later battled cancer publicly, twice, becoming an inspirational figure and cancer-awareness advocate. He returned to play on Survivor: All-Stars (Season 8) and, years after his recovery, on Survivor: Winners at War (Season 40).

Humble and resilient, Ethan Zohn is remembered as much for his courage away from the game as for his Africa victory, one of Survivor's genuine good-guy champions.
