Biography

Gervase Peterson was one of the memorable original sixteen from Survivor: Borneo (Season 1), the charismatic basketball coach from Philadelphia known early on for admitting he couldn't swim on a game set beside the ocean. His laid-back humor and honesty made him a standout of the debut cast, where he finished seventh.

Thirteen years later, Gervase made a triumphant comeback on Survivor: Blood vs. Water (Season 27), playing alongside his niece Natalie. This time he rode a strong alliance all the way to the final Tribal Council, finishing runner-up and proving the old-school gamer could still compete in the modern era.

Gervase Peterson bridges Survivor's beginning and its evolution, a first-season original who returned to become a legitimate finalist more than a decade later.
