Biography

Kelly Wiglesworth was the river guide from Survivor: Borneo (Season 1) who came within a single jury vote of becoming the first Sole Survivor. A dominant challenge competitor, she won a string of immunities down the stretch of the debut season, only to lose the final vote 4-3 to Richard Hatch after Sue Hawk's blistering "snakes and rats" jury speech helped seal her fate.

Wiglesworth largely stayed out of the Survivor spotlight for fifteen years before returning for Survivor: Cambodia - Second Chance (Season 31), a season whose cast was chosen by fan vote, a measure of how fondly the original runner-up was remembered.

As the answer to the trivia question "who lost the first-ever final Tribal Council," Kelly Wiglesworth holds a permanent place in Survivor history, the athletic, likable foil to the show's inaugural mastermind.
